Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, let Your presence be our greatest desire today. Forgive us for the times we have chased Your blessings while neglecting Your beautiful face. Draw us close, Lord, and satisfy our souls with the fullness of joy found only in You. Teach us to treasure intimacy with You above all else. May we sit at Your feet like Mary, choosing the better portion that will never be taken away.

Daily Inspiration
“You make known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.” — Psalm 16:11
David, the shepherd king who experienced both mountaintop victories and valley-deep sorrows, discovered a profound truth: nothing compares to dwelling in God’s presence. This verse reveals that true fulfillment isn’t found in circumstances, achievements, or even answered prayers—it’s found in relationship with the Living God.
Notice that David doesn’t say joy comes from God’s gifts, but from His presence. The Hebrew word for “presence” here literally means “face.” When we seek God’s face—His character, His heart, His companionship—we discover a joy that transcends our temporary situations. This is the path of life that leads to eternal pleasures, available not just in heaven, but beginning right here, right now.
Question of the day
Why do I sometimes feel spiritually dry even when I’m actively serving God?
Spiritual dryness often occurs when we substitute activity for God with intimacy with God. Martha busied herself with preparations while Mary sat at Jesus’ feet, and Jesus affirmed that Mary had chosen “what is better” (Luke 10:42). We can become so consumed with doing things for the Lord that we neglect simply being with Him.
The prophet Isaiah reminds us, “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength” (Isaiah 30:15). Service flows from relationship, not the reverse. When we feel spiritually parched, it’s often God’s gentle invitation to return to the well of His presence before continuing to pour out.

Moment of Reflection
Take a moment to consider: Am I pursuing God’s hand more than His face? Recall a time when you experienced deep satisfaction found simply in sitting with God—not asking for anything, not working through a prayer list, but simply resting in His love. That sacred stillness is always available to you. Presence surpasses provision every time.
Thought for the day
There’s a subtle temptation in the Christian life that often goes unexamined: we can become so focused on what God does that we forget who God is. We approach Him like a divine vending machine—insert prayers, receive blessings. But God desires something far deeper: relationship.
Consider how you feel when someone only contacts you when they need something. Now imagine the joy when someone simply wants to spend time with you, expecting nothing in return. This is the kind of intimacy God invites us into.
Seek His face above His hand. When we prioritize knowing God over receiving from God, something beautiful happens—we discover that He Himself is the reward. The blessings become secondary to the Blesser. The gifts pale in comparison to the Giver. And in that sacred exchange, we find that His presence truly does fill us with a joy that nothing else can replicate.
