Your Daily Devotion for September 18th

Good Morning!
Good morning beloved family in Christ! Today is Thursday, September 18, a beautiful day to experience the refreshing rain of repentance and renewal from our Heavenly Father.
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father,
We humbly turn our hearts toward you in repentance. Search us Lord, and cleanse us from the sin patterns we continue to excuse and explain away. Pour your healing Spirit upon our souls, washing away all that separates us from Your perfect peace. May we feel afresh the joy and relief of Your mercy.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.
Daily Inspiration
“Turn to God…that times of refreshing may come.” - Acts 3:19
Repentance is not merely sorrow over our faults, but a complete turning of heart, mind, and spirit back toward God. It is in this turning that our Heavenly Father promises renewal and deep spiritual refreshing—like gentle spring rains upon a parched heart. Through sincere repentance, we encounter the beautiful fountains of revival that God longs to pour out in abundance. Today, may we pause, reflect, and honestly face the things we’ve been avoiding, trusting fully in His abundant mercy.
In Proverbs 12:17, it says, "An honest witness tells the truth, but a false witness tells lies." In today’s world, finding honest, fact-based news can be a challenge. That’s why 1440 delivers daily news that’s free from opinions and bias—just the facts, helping you stay informed with truth.

Question of the day
How do I know my repentance is genuine and sincere?
True repentance involves more than fleeting feelings of regret or guilt. Scripture reveals true repentance as godly sorrow leading to a real turning away from the sin and toward God. In 2 Corinthians 7:10, Paul teaches, “Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.” Genuine repentance demonstrates itself practically through changed choices, attitudes, and behaviors, driven by love for God and gratitude toward His forgiveness.

Moment of Reflection
Pause for a moment and prayerfully consider: “Is there a pattern or sin in my life that I’ve grown comfortable with, excused, or ignored?” Bring this honestly before the Lord, trusting His gentle yet powerful work of renewal and revival in your heart.
Thought for the day
Repentance is one of God’s greatest gifts—an open door back into fellowship with Him. It is neither weakness nor shame, but a pathway to true strength and renewal. Consider how the times we resist repentance leave us spiritually heavy and burdened, yet how the times we surrender in sincere repentance bring peace, freedom, and joy. God not only forgives, but heals, restores, and revives, allowing us to move forward in His abundant life. The first refreshing hours following sincere turning back to God are some of our most treasured experiences of His mercy and grace. Welcome these times, and let your life bloom again—washed and awakened by the spring rains of His endless love.
Closing Blessing
May the Lord bless you today with a heart softened toward Him. May your repentance flow freely, and His mercy wash you abundantly. May you find today a renewed spirit ready to walk in freedom and peace. Go forth, refreshed by His grace and joyfully anchored in His everlasting love.
