Good Morning!
Good morning, all! On this Thursday, September 17th, we invite you to pause and celebrate the small victories in your life. Too often, we rush past our modest beginnings, eager to reach grand destinations. But today, let us honor the Builder who works through every humble start. The tiny seed planted yesterday becomes tomorrow’s mighty oak. Embrace this day with gratitude for every step forward, no matter how small it may seem.

Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, asking You to open our eyes to see the beauty in small beginnings. Teach us to honor every step of growth, knowing that You are the Master Builder who constructs magnificent things from humble foundations. Help us resist the temptation to despise what seems insignificant, for we know Your hands are at work in all things. Give us patience to trust Your timing and faith to celebrate progress, not just perfection.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.
Daily Inspiration
“Who dares despise the day of small things?” — Zechariah 4:10
This powerful question from the prophet Zechariah was spoken during the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem. The people who remembered Solomon’s glorious temple wept at the modest foundation being laid. They saw only what was—not what would be.
God’s gentle rebuke reminds us that He sees differently than we do. Where we see insignificance, He sees potential. Where we see slow progress, He sees faithful obedience. The mustard seed faith Jesus spoke of moves mountains not because of its size, but because of the One who receives it. Every great movement of God throughout history began with something small—a baby in a manger, twelve ordinary men, a whispered prayer in a quiet room. Never minimize what God is building through your small, faithful beginnings.
Question of the day
Why do I struggle to feel satisfied with gradual spiritual growth?
Our impatience with spiritual progress often stems from living in a culture that celebrates instant results. Yet Scripture consistently portrays spiritual maturity as a gradual, lifelong process. In 2 Peter 3:18, we are called to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”—growth implies time and patience. Philippians 1:6 reassures us that “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.” God is not frustrated by your pace; He is faithful to His process. Trust that each day of seeking Him, each small act of obedience, each quiet moment in prayer is producing eternal fruit, even when you cannot yet see it.

Moment of Reflection
What small progress am I minimizing today? Perhaps it’s a prayer habit finally taking root, a relationship slowly mending, or a single chapter of Scripture read this morning. Think back to a massive outcome in your life or in history that grew from a tiny, faithful beginning. Let this memory strengthen your resolve to keep planting seeds, trusting that God brings the increase in His perfect time.
Thought for the day
Small starts birth great finishes. This truth echoes throughout Scripture and human experience alike. Consider David, anointed king while still a shepherd boy, spending years in obscurity before his coronation. Consider the early church, beginning with 120 believers in an upper room, now numbering billions across the globe. Consider Jesus Himself, born in a stable, raised in humble Nazareth, changing the entire course of human history.
When we despise small beginnings, we dishonor the Builder who chose to work through them. We essentially tell God that His methods aren’t impressive enough for our standards. But His ways are higher than our ways. He delights in using the weak to shame the strong, the foolish to shame the wise, and the small to accomplish the great. Today, celebrate one small win. Acknowledge it. Thank God for it. Let it fuel your faith that He who has begun this work will be faithful to complete it.
Closing Blessing
May the Lord bless your small beginnings and multiply your faithful efforts beyond all you can ask or imagine. May you walk in confidence that nothing done for Him is ever wasted, and may His peace guard your heart as you trust His perfect timing. Go forth today celebrating every step forward, knowing the Builder is with you.
Amen.
