Good Morning!
Good morning and happy Friday, October 23rd! As we close out this week, God is calling us to look beyond ourselves and invest in the next generation. The wisdom He has deposited in you was never meant to stay with you alone—it was given to be shared. Today, let’s consider how we can intentionally pour into someone younger, ensuring that the lessons we’ve learned continue to bear fruit long after we’re gone. Disciple the next generation—untransferred wisdom dies with its carrier.
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for every mentor, teacher, and spiritual guide You have placed in our lives. Give us intentionality to pour into the young. Open our eyes to see the “Timothys” around us who hunger for wisdom and guidance. Grant us courage to share what You have taught us, patience to walk alongside those who are learning, and humility to remember that we too were once discipled by faithful servants. May the wisdom You’ve entrusted to us multiply through generations.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.
Daily Inspiration
“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” — 2 Timothy 2:2
In this powerful verse, Paul reveals God’s beautiful design for spiritual multiplication. Notice the generational chain: Paul to Timothy, Timothy to reliable people, and those people to others. This is four generations of faith in a single verse! Paul understood that his ministry would outlive him only if he deliberately invested in faithful disciples who would continue the work.
This isn’t passive hoping—it’s intentional entrusting. The Greek word for “entrust” carries the sense of depositing something valuable for safekeeping. Your hard-won wisdom, your tested faith, your lessons learned through trial—these are treasures meant to be deposited into hearts that will carry them forward. The gospel has reached us today because countless faithful believers refused to let wisdom die with them.

Question of the Day
How do I know who I should be mentoring or discipling?
Scripture provides guidance for identifying those ready to receive spiritual investment. Paul told Timothy to look for “reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others” (2 Timothy 2:2). Look for FAT people: those who are Faithful, Available, and Teachable. In Luke 6:12-13, Jesus prayed all night before choosing His disciples, reminding us to seek God’s direction. Start by observing who asks questions, who shows hunger for growth, and who demonstrates faithfulness in small things (Luke 16:10). Often, God places these individuals directly in our path—a coworker, a younger family member, someone in your small group. Ask God to reveal them, then take the initiative to invest.

Moment of Reflection
What lesson has God taught you that you haven’t passed along? Think back to the mentors who invested in you—their deliberate teaching shaped who you are today. Perhaps someone taught you to pray, to study Scripture, or to trust God through hardship. Remember: competence gained because a mentor invested knowledge deliberately. That same investment is now yours to give. Untransferred wisdom is wasted wisdom.
Thought for the Day
Every generation of believers stands on the shoulders of those who came before. The faith you hold today traveled through centuries of faithful discipleship—from Jesus to the apostles, from the apostles to the early church, and through countless unnamed believers who refused to keep the gospel to themselves. You are a link in an unbroken chain of spiritual inheritance.
But chains break when links fail to connect. When we hoard our wisdom, keeping our spiritual lessons private, we become the generation where the chain ends. The young people around us are not interruptions to our spiritual journey—they are the very purpose of it. Jesus’s final command wasn’t to accumulate knowledge but to “make disciples” (Matthew 28:19).
Consider this: what you know about God’s faithfulness, what you’ve learned about overcoming temptation, what wisdom you’ve gained through suffering—these are not just for your benefit. They are seeds meant to be planted in fertile hearts. Pour into someone younger today. Send a text, schedule a coffee, share a lesson. The legacy of your faith depends on it.
Closing Blessing
May the Lord give you eyes to see the young hearts ready for investment, words seasoned with grace to share His truth, and the faithfulness to pour out what He has poured into you. May your wisdom multiply through generations, and may the fruit of your discipleship continue long after your earthly race is finished. Go in peace, faithful steward.
