Tangle Is a Glimpse of Hope in Uncertain Times
Feeling like you want to get off the rollercoaster of polarizing politics? Read Tangle — an independent and nonpartisan political newsletter recently profiled on This American Life for helping to bridge the gap between politically divided families. Each day, the newsletter unpacks one important news story, examining it from all sides of the political spectrum.
Daily Inspiration
“Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility…” - Colossians 3:12
Our attitudes and behaviors are opportunities to mirror Christ’s compassionate heart. By “clothing ourselves” with compassion, kindness, and humility, we embody Christ’s love in tangible, meaningful ways. Compassion isn’t passive—it actively listens, intentionally helps, and humbly serves. It gently repairs wounds, bridges divides, and heals hurts, sometimes reaching depths we cannot see.
Question of the day
How can I intentionally practice compassion in one interaction today?
Look for an interaction today where you can intentionally pause, listen wholeheartedly, and respond gently. Compassion is captured in deliberate actions and genuinely empathetic words. As Paul instructs in Philippians 2:4 — “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” Seek to meet someone’s emotional or physical need. Your compassionate interaction could leave a lasting impact, reflecting the very love of Christ.

Moment of Reflection
Recall a moment when someone’s kind gesture reminded you vividly of God’s gentle and loving nature. Reflect quietly, letting the warmth from that memory encourage you in your efforts to share God’s compassion today.
Thought for the day
True compassion isn’t random or coincidental; rather, it’s a conscious choice—a purposeful decision to embody Christ’s love in your daily encounters. Just as clothing is deliberately chosen and put on to cover us, you can “put on” compassion. Compassion connects our hearts intentionally to another’s situation. Today, consciously choose to wear compassion as your outer garment and let it softly but significantly shape your actions and infuse peace into your relationships.
Closing Blessing
Go forth today, clothed securely with the compassion of Christ. May your words and actions be filled with gentleness and grace, healing unseen hurts and bridging gaps wherever you walk. God bless your day abundantly
