Good Morning!

Good morning and blessed Saturday, May 16th! As you step into this weekend, consider this: are you truly living the Christian life, or merely existing in it? God didn’t call us to a safe, predictable faith tucked neatly into Sunday mornings. He called us to an adventure—a life of holy disruption, radical obedience, and passionate pursuit of His presence. Today, let’s shake off the drowsiness of comfortable Christianity and awaken to the vibrant life He designed for us.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, we confess that we have grown comfortable in places where You call us to be courageous. Forgive us for settling into spiritual routines that lack fire and passion. Disturb our dangerous comfort, Lord. Awaken in us a hunger for more of You—a faith that moves mountains and transforms lives. Rekindle the flame that once burned brightly within us, and give us boldness to follow wherever You lead.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.

Daily Inspiration

“Because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of My mouth.” — Revelation 3:16

These words from Christ to the church at Laodicea cut straight to the heart of comfortable Christianity. The Laodiceans weren’t openly rebellious or hostile toward God—they were simply indifferent. They had settled into a faith that demanded nothing, risked nothing, and ultimately meant nothing.

Jesus’ response is visceral and startling. He would rather we be cold—completely opposed—than caught in the dangerous middle ground of lukewarm faith. Lukewarm water is useful for neither refreshment nor healing; it’s simply disappointing. God desires our whole hearts, not half-hearted devotion wrapped in religious routine. Comfort may feel safe, but it’s actually the most dangerous place for a believer to dwell.

Question of the Day

How do I know if I’ve become spiritually complacent, and what can I do about it?

Spiritual complacency often sneaks in quietly. Signs include feeling indifferent toward prayer and Scripture, going through religious motions without genuine engagement, avoiding spiritual challenges, and losing concern for the lost. The prophet Isaiah warned that people can honor God with their lips while their hearts remain far from Him (Isaiah 29:13).

The remedy begins with honest self-examination. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas of apathy. Revisit your first love for Christ (Revelation 2:4-5). Surround yourself with believers who challenge you. Step into uncomfortable obedience—serve somewhere new, share your faith, fast and pray with intention. Revival begins when we acknowledge our lukewarmness and cry out for God to set our hearts ablaze again.

Moment of Reflection

Think back to a time when your faith felt alive—when prayer was conversation, not obligation, and Scripture leaped off the page into your soul. What changed? Perhaps life’s blessings became distractions, or past disappointments cooled your passion. Today, identify one area where comfort has replaced commitment. Name it honestly before God, and invite Him to reignite what has grown cold.

No bots. No awkward intros. Just great notes.

Ever had a meeting where a random bot joins the call and suddenly everyone’s distracted?

Granola works differently. No meeting bots. Nothing joins your call.

It transcribes directly from your device’s audio; on your computer or phone. Works with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and even in-person conversations.

You stay focused. Jot down notes like you normally would. Granola quietly handles the rest in the background.

Want to be extra thoughtful? You can auto-send a quick consent note beforehand, too.

Thought for the Day

Comfort is not inherently evil, but it becomes dangerous when it replaces our dependence on God. The Laodicean church said, “I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing” (Revelation 3:17). Their physical abundance had bred spiritual poverty. They had everything the world offered and thought they needed nothing—including God.

This is the subtle trap of comfortable Christianity. We build lives insulated from difficulty, cushioned by routine, and we mistake absence of struggle for the presence of blessing. But faith was never meant to be lived in the safety of the harbor; it’s designed for the open sea. Abraham left everything familiar. Moses confronted Pharaoh. David faced a giant. The early church turned the world upside down. These were not comfortable people—they were committed ones.

The adventure of faith requires risk, surrender, and sometimes discomfort. But in that holy disruption, we discover the living God who walks with us through fire and flood. Don’t trade the adventure for an armchair. Stir the fire within.

Closing Blessing

May the Lord awaken every dormant dream and rekindle every dying ember within your soul. May He grant you holy dissatisfaction with anything less than His fullness. Go forth this day not seeking comfort, but seeking Christ—and in Him, find the greatest adventure your heart has ever known. May His fire burn brightly in you, now and forevermore.
