Good Morning!
Good morning, beloved! On this Tuesday, May 12th, we gather our hearts and minds for a day that calls us to wise action. Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is not stand and fight, but turn and run. Today, let us remember that fleeing temptation is not weakness—it is wisdom walking in swift obedience. May your steps be quick and your heart be steadfast as you navigate whatever comes your way.

Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, we come before You acknowledging our weakness and Your strength. Give us quick feet to run from temptation when it crosses our path. Grant us discernment to recognize danger before it ensnares us, and courage to flee without hesitation or shame. Thank You for always providing a way of escape. Help us to trust that running toward You is never cowardice, but faith in action.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.
Daily Inspiration
“He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” — 1 Corinthians 10:13
This powerful promise reminds us that God never allows temptation beyond what we can bear. But notice something crucial: He provides a “way out”—an exit, an escape route. Sometimes that way out is not a theological argument or a prayer meeting, but a pair of running shoes and the good sense to use them.
Joseph understood this when he fled from Potiphar’s wife. He didn’t stay to explain why her proposition was wrong. He didn’t try to counsel her or reason with her. He ran so fast he left his cloak behind. That flight led to prison temporarily, but ultimately to the palace. Your retreat from temptation today may be the very path God uses to advance you tomorrow.
Question of the Day
Why does the Bible sometimes tell us to resist the devil but other times tell us to flee temptation?
Scripture gives us both commands because different situations require different responses. James 4:7 tells us to “resist the devil, and he will flee from you,” while 2 Timothy 2:22 instructs us to “flee youthful lusts.” The distinction lies in understanding the nature of the battle. We resist the devil’s accusations, lies, and spiritual attacks by standing firm in our identity in Christ. However, when it comes to temptations of the flesh—sexual immorality, greed, harmful desires—the Bible consistently counsels flight. Paul told the Corinthians to “flee from sexual immorality” (1 Corinthians 6:18) because some battles are won not by engagement but by absence. Wisdom knows the difference.

Moment of Reflection
Think back on your life. Can you recall a time when victory came not through fighting but through fleeing? Perhaps you walked away from a conversation that was heading somewhere dangerous. Maybe you changed your route, deleted an app, or ended a relationship that was pulling you away from God. Those moments of retreat were actually advances in your spiritual journey. Flight is sometimes the purest form of faith.

Thought for the Day
There is a beautiful paradox in the Kingdom of God: surrender expands capacity. When we think of letting go, we often imagine loss or emptiness. But in God’s economy, the opposite is true. When we yield everything—our time, talents, treasures, and even our troubles—we create space for God to work in extraordinary ways.
Consider how a cup must be emptied before it can be refilled with something new. Our hands must release what we’re clutching before they can receive what God offers. Those who have experienced breakthrough often testify that their greatest spiritual growth came after moments of total yielding.
The disciples left their nets, their careers, and their security to follow Jesus. In return, they received purpose beyond measure, witnessed miracles, and became vessels through whom God changed the world. Your surrender today positions you for tomorrow’s expansion. Trust that what God has planned far exceeds what you could hold onto yourself.
Closing Blessing
May the Lord grant you courage to surrender fully this day. May He fill every yielded space with His peace, power, and presence. As you release control, may you discover that His grip on your life is stronger and more loving than your own. Go forward this week as a vessel ready to carry all that He desires to pour through you. Amen.
