Good Morning!
Good morning, beloved friends in Christ! On this Friday, March 27th, we gather our hearts together to seek something more precious than gold—divine wisdom. As we close out another week, let us remember that understanding is the foundation upon which we build lives that honor God. May your coffee be warm and your spirit warmer as we journey through today’s devotion together.
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, we come before You this morning with humble hearts, recognizing that true wisdom flows only from Your throne. Pour Your understanding into every decision we face today. Illuminate the paths before us and grant us discernment to choose wisely. Where we have relied on our own understanding, forgive us and redirect our steps. May we seek Your counsel above all earthly advice, trusting that You see what we cannot.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.
Daily Inspiration
“The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.” — Proverbs 4:7
This verse speaks with urgent simplicity: wisdom must be pursued intentionally, even sacrificially. Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, didn’t stumble upon wisdom accidentally—he asked for it above all else when God offered him anything his heart desired.
Notice the emphasis on getting wisdom. It requires action, pursuit, and often sacrifice. The phrase “though it cost all you have” reveals that wisdom sometimes demands we surrender our pride, our assumptions, and our comfortable ways of thinking. Yet this cost pales in comparison to the catastrophes that wisdom prevents. Every shipwreck of a marriage, every ruined friendship, every financial disaster often traces back to decisions made without seeking godly understanding. Wisdom isn’t merely intellectual—it’s the practical application of God’s truth to life’s complexities.

Question of the Day
How do I know if I’m hearing God’s wisdom or just my own thoughts?
Discerning God’s voice from our own inner dialogue is a challenge every believer faces. Scripture provides guardrails for this discernment. James 3:17 tells us that wisdom from above is “first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.” If your “wisdom” leads to strife, pride, or self-serving outcomes, it likely isn’t from God.
Additionally, God’s wisdom will never contradict His written Word. Proverbs 11:14 reminds us that “in an abundance of counselors there is safety”—seek godly mentors who can confirm or challenge what you believe you’re hearing. Finally, God’s wisdom often comes with peace (Colossians 3:15), even when the decision itself is difficult.

Moment of Reflection
Think back on your life—can you recall a catastrophe avoided because you sought wisdom before acting? Perhaps it was counsel from a trusted friend that saved a relationship, or time spent in prayer that redirected a career decision. Now consider: what decision currently sits before you that desperately needs divine wisdom? Don’t move forward alone. The same God who guided you then stands ready to guide you now.
Thought for the Day
Wisdom prevents wreckage. These three words contain a lifetime of truth. Consider the countless biblical examples: Joseph’s wisdom saved Egypt from famine. Daniel’s wisdom preserved his life in Babylon. The wise men’s decision to return home by another route protected the infant Jesus.
Yet we often treat wisdom as optional—something to seek when we have time or when decisions feel “big enough.” But the small decisions, the daily choices, the words we speak without thinking—these accumulate into the trajectory of our lives. A ship off course by one degree will miss its destination by hundreds of miles.
The beautiful promise is this: God wants to give us wisdom. James 1:5 declares, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach.” He doesn’t begrudge our requests or shame us for needing guidance. He gives generously. Today, before you send that email, make that phone call, or finalize that decision—pause. Ask. Wait. The wisdom you receive may prevent wreckage you cannot yet see.
Closing Blessing
May the God of all wisdom illuminate your path this day. May His understanding guard your heart and guide your decisions. Go forward with confidence, knowing that the One who holds tomorrow is eager to share His wisdom with you today. Be blessed, be wise, and walk in peace until we meet again.
