Good Morning!
Good morning, beloved friends! On this Friday, March 20th, as we welcome the arrival of spring, let us also welcome a renewed commitment to stillness in our souls. Just as nature prepares to awaken from winter’s quiet, God invites us to cultivate our own inner stillness—a sacred space where His gentle whispers can finally be heard above the noise of daily life. Today, let us embrace the peace that comes from simply being present with our Creator.
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, quiet the chaos within us today. Our minds race with worries, our hearts carry burdens, and the noise of this world constantly competes for our attention. Teach us to be still before You, to release our anxious thoughts, and to rest in the certainty of Your sovereign care. Help us create space in our busy lives where we can hear Your gentle voice guiding us toward Your perfect will.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.
Orphans in Distress
In parts of Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and the Middle East, the orphan crisis is growing, and food is running out.
In some places — like Goma in the Democratic Republic of Congo — violence and unrest are only making food scarcer. Children’s homes are struggling to survive in these fragile communities.
Serving Orphans Worldwide is combating the crisis, and you can help. 100% of your gift will provide hungry children and babies with nutritious meals, emergency groceries, life-saving formula, and long-term food security.
Join Serving Orphans Worldwide in feeding as many hungry orphans as possible. Donate today — just $12 feeds a child for a whole month and teaches children the gospel.
Daily Inspiration
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
These powerful words were spoken in the context of chaos—wars raging, nations in turmoil, the earth giving way. Yet God’s command cuts through the pandemonium with startling simplicity: Be still.
This isn’t passive inactivity or lazy indifference. The Hebrew word for “still” carries the meaning of “cease striving” or “let go.” It’s an active surrender, a deliberate choice to stop wrestling with circumstances we cannot control and instead anchor ourselves in the unchanging reality of who God is. When we cultivate inner stillness, we position ourselves to receive divine wisdom that noise would otherwise drown out. In that sacred quiet, we don’t just learn about God—we truly know Him as sovereign Lord over every storm in our lives.
Question of the day
Why do I struggle to hear God’s voice even when I pray regularly?
Many believers experience this frustration, and Scripture offers valuable insight. Often, the barrier isn’t God’s silence but our inner noise—anxious thoughts, preoccupations, or expecting God to speak in particular ways. In 1 Kings 19:11-12, Elijah discovered God wasn’t in the wind, earthquake, or fire, but in a “still small voice.” God frequently speaks through subtle impressions, Scripture, circumstances, and the counsel of godly people. James 1:19 encourages us to be “quick to listen, slow to speak.” Creating margin in our prayers for listening—not just speaking—opens space for God’s voice. Additionally, unconfessed sin can hinder our spiritual hearing (Isaiah 59:2). Regular stillness, patient expectation, and a surrendered heart prepare us to recognize His voice.

Moment of Reflection
Think back to a time when you intentionally chose stillness over busyness. Perhaps it was an early morning before the house awoke, a quiet walk in nature, or a moment of surrender during overwhelming circumstances. What clarity did you receive? What truth became evident that had been obscured by noise? Let that memory encourage you to seek stillness again today, trusting that the same God who met you then awaits you now.
Thought for the day
Stillness reveals sovereignty. This profound truth challenges our modern addiction to constant activity and information. We fill every moment with noise—podcasts, notifications, endless scrolling—partly because silence feels uncomfortable. In silence, we’re confronted with ourselves and with God, and both encounters require vulnerability.
Yet it’s precisely in stillness that we discover what noise has hidden: God is sovereign. He doesn’t need our frantic efforts to hold the world together. The Psalmist reminds us that before we were commanded to “be still,” God declared “I am God.” His sovereignty precedes our stillness and makes it possible. We can cease striving because Someone infinitely capable is already at work.
What inner noise prevents you from hearing God today? Perhaps it’s worry about finances, replaying a hurtful conversation, or planning tomorrow’s obligations. Identify that noise, name it before God, and consciously release it. In that surrender, sovereignty becomes not just theological truth but experienced reality—and peace floods the quiet spaces we create.
Closing Blessing
May the God of peace quiet every anxious thought within you this day. May you find sacred moments of stillness where His sovereignty becomes your comfort and His whispers become your guide. Go forth knowing that the One who commands storms to be still holds your life with tender, sovereign care. Be blessed in His presence today and always.
