Heavenly Father,

Lord, plant within our hearts an unshakable joy that no circumstance can uproot. Let your joy fill us and overflow, strengthening us to rise above life’s burdens and love others fully. Teach us to stand defiant in rejoicing, knowing You work all things for our good.

How can I maintain joy when facing difficult circumstances?

When encountering hardship, remember the words of James 1:2-3—“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” Joy in difficulty isn’t natural; it comes from intentionally choosing to rejoice and trusting in God’s sovereign goodness. Spend time reflecting on past moments when rejoicing brought supernatural strength—it will remind you that your joy is rooted deeply in faith, rather than circumstances.
