Good Morning!

Good morning, beloved! On this beautiful Sunday, June 14th, we gather with hearts ready to be stirred by the Spirit. Today's message carries an urgent invitation: activate the dormant gifts within you. Like seeds buried beneath winter soil, your God-given talents are waiting to burst forth into bloom. Those buried treasures earn no interest when left untouched—they were meant to bless others and glorify our Father. Let today be the day you dust off what has been neglected and let it shine once more.

Today's Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come before You acknowledging that we have allowed precious gifts to lie dormant within us. Forgive us for neglecting what You have so graciously given. Stir up the flames of purpose and passion that have grown dim. Give us courage to step out in faith and use our talents for Your kingdom. Reawaken what has been sleeping, Lord, and help us to serve You and others with renewed vigor and joy.

In Jesus' name, we pray.
Amen.

Daily Inspiration

"Fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands." — 2 Timothy 1:6

The Apostle Paul wrote these words to his young protégé Timothy during a time when Timothy may have been struggling with fear or discouragement. Paul's imagery is powerful—a gift from God is like a fire that can diminish to mere embers if not tended carefully.

Notice that Paul doesn't suggest Timothy needs new gifts; rather, he encourages him to fan what already exists. This is profoundly liberating. You already possess everything you need to fulfill God's purpose for your life. The gifts were deposited at your creation and confirmed through the Holy Spirit. Your responsibility is not to acquire but to activate. When we neglect our gifts due to fear, busyness, or distraction, we rob ourselves and others of the blessings God intended to flow through us.

Question of the Day

Why does God give us gifts if He knows we might neglect them?

God gives us gifts because He is a generous Father who delights in equipping His children for good works. Ephesians 2:10 tells us we are "God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." He knows our weaknesses, yet He trusts us with His treasures because the Christian life is one of partnership with Him. Our potential neglect doesn't diminish His generosity—it simply reveals our need for His grace and the Holy Spirit's continual prompting. God's gifts also come with accountability (Matthew 25:14-30), reminding us that stewardship matters deeply to our Lord.

Moment of Reflection

Think back to a time when you reactivated a neglected gift—perhaps you returned to teaching, singing, encouraging, or creating after a long pause. Remember the impact it made? The joy it brought to others? The fulfillment you experienced? That memory is God's reminder that dormant gifts serve no one, but awakened gifts transform both the giver and the receiver.

Thought for the Day

Dormant gifts are like unplanted seeds locked in a drawer—full of potential but producing nothing. Consider the parable of the talents in Matthew 25. The servant who buried his talent didn't lose it through recklessness; he simply failed to use it. His master's response was severe because inaction itself is a form of unfaithfulness.

What gift have you let go dormant? Perhaps it's hospitality, once freely extended but now forgotten amid life's rush. Maybe it's a creative ability—writing, music, art—that once glorified God but now gathers dust. It could be the gift of encouragement, wisdom, or leadership that others desperately need from you.

Today, choose one dormant gift and take a single step toward reactivation. Send that encouraging text. Sign up for that ministry. Pick up that instrument. Small flames, when tended faithfully, become mighty fires. Your obedience in reactivating what God has given you creates ripples of blessing you cannot imagine.

Closing Blessing

May the Holy Spirit breathe fresh life into every gift He has placed within you. May you find courage to step forward in faith, knowing that what God has given, He will also sustain. Go forth this week and let your light shine brightly for His glory. The world is waiting for what only you can offer.

Amen.
