Good Morning!
Good morning, beloved! On this beautiful Wednesday, June 10th, we invite you to cultivate a teachable spirit. Know-it-alls plateau quickly, but those who remain humble learners continue to grow in wisdom and grace. May your heart stay soft and your mind stay curious as you walk with the Lord today. Let wonder remain alive within you!
Today's Prayer
Heavenly Father, keep wonder alive in our hearts. We confess that sometimes pride convinces us we have learned enough, that we no longer need to sit at Your feet as students. Forgive us for the moments when we've closed our ears to wisdom from unexpected sources. Grant us humility to recognize that every person we meet may carry a lesson You've prepared for us. Open our eyes to learn, our ears to listen, and our hearts to receive.
In Jesus' name, we pray.
Amen.
Daily Inspiration
"Let the wise listen and add to their learning." — Proverbs 1:5
This verse holds a profound paradox: it is the wise who continue learning. We might expect Solomon to direct this instruction toward the foolish or the young, yet he addresses those already possessing wisdom. True wisdom recognizes its own limitations.
The moment we believe we've arrived at complete understanding is precisely when our growth stops. The wisest among us maintain postures of perpetual students, understanding that God's truth is an endless ocean we've only begun to explore. Even Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, knew that wisdom demands continuous listening and learning. Today, approach every conversation, every Scripture reading, and every experience as an opportunity for God to teach you something new.
Question of the day
Why does God sometimes use unexpected people to teach us important lessons?
Throughout Scripture, God consistently chooses unlikely teachers to humble us and expand our understanding. Balaam received correction from a donkey (Numbers 22:28-30). Jesus reminded the Pharisees that God could raise up children of Abraham from stones (Luke 3:8). Young David taught King Saul about faith. God delights in using unexpected messengers because it keeps us dependent on Him rather than our own judgment about who deserves our attention. When we dismiss people as having nothing to offer us, we may be closing our ears to the very voice of God speaking through them.

Moment of Reflection
Take a quiet moment to consider: What area of your life have you stopped learning in? Perhaps it's your marriage, your prayer life, your understanding of certain Scriptures, or your approach to ministry. Recall a time when God sent breakthrough insight through an unexpected teacher—maybe a child, a stranger, or even someone you disagreed with. Thank God for that moment and ask Him to keep your heart soft today.
Thought for the day
Teachability determines altitude. This simple truth carries eternal weight for every believer. The height of your spiritual growth, the depth of your relationships, and the breadth of your impact on God's kingdom are all directly tied to your willingness to remain a student.
Consider how Jesus described entrance into His kingdom—we must become like little children (Matthew 18:3). Children ask endless questions. They approach the world with fascination rather than presumption. They don't pretend to have all the answers.
When we stop learning, we start dying spiritually. Pride builds walls around our understanding, convincing us we've mastered enough. But the Christian life is one of constant transformation, being renewed day by day. Challenge yourself today: learn something new. Read a passage you've skipped over. Ask someone a genuine question. Listen more than you speak. Your willingness to remain teachable isn't weakness—it's the very posture that invites God's continued revelation into your life.
Closing Blessing
May the Lord grant you a humble heart that delights in learning and eyes that recognize teachers in unexpected places. May wonder never fade from your spirit, and may you grow in wisdom and stature with each passing day. Go forth with curiosity, beloved, for there is always more of God to discover.
Amen.
