Your Daily Devotion for July 31st

Good Morning!
Good morning! Today is Thursday, July 31st. As we begin this beautiful day, let us remember to let godly counsel see our blind spots, guiding us toward fruitful and wise paths.
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Surround us today with wise voices that speak godly truths into our lives. Teach us humility to listen, courage to seek advice, and discernment to follow wise counsel. Protect us from pride which leads to unnecessary mistakes.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.
Daily Inspiration
"Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed." – Proverbs 15:22
God teaches us clearly in His Word the value of seeking wise counsel. Alone, it’s easy to overlook crucial steps, misunderstand circumstances, or underestimate potential pitfalls. But when we humble ourselves, admitting we don’t know everything and actively seek godly insight, our plans take on clearer shape and stronger direction. Early advice is far less costly than late regret.

Question of the Day
Which decision should I run by a mentor first?
Each of us faces choices that impact our faith, family, or future. Big decisions—such as career moves, relationships, finances, and spiritual steps—should especially be brought to a trusted mentor or advisor as Proverbs 19:20 says: “Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise.” A mentor’s guidance, grounded in wisdom and founded on Scripture, can save us years of pain or unnecessary consequences.

Moment of Reflection
Reflect on a time when you avoided a problem because you humbly sought or listened to wise advice. How did that experience enrich your walk with God and deepen your understanding of humility?
Thought for the Day
Wisdom is cultivated not merely in isolation but in community. God’s design for our growth includes the presence of wise, trusted mentors whose insights assist us in navigating life’s many crossroads. If we choose the solitary path of pride or independence, we silently declare ourselves wise enough already, thus missing out on the rich, collective wisdom that God intends for His people. Today, instead, choose intentional humility: seek advice proactively, not reactively, learning from the experiences of those who have faithfully walked the road before you. By doing so, you enter into God’s ordained provision of community-driven wisdom.
Closing Blessing
May the Lord guide your steps through godly advisers, sharpen your discernment, and forever keep you teachable and humble in His sight. Walk in His wisdom and peace today!
