Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come before You as Your servants, eager to fulfill the assignments You have given us. Forgive us for the times we have grown idle or distracted from Your work. Stir within us a renewed passion to occupy until You come, investing our time, talents, and treasures for Your glory. Help us remain faithful, diligent, and expectant. May our lives reflect the hope we carry and the King we serve.

“Put this money to work until I come back.” — Luke 19:13

In the Parable of the Ten Minas, Jesus tells of a nobleman who entrusted his servants with resources before departing on a journey. His instruction was clear: “Occupy until I come.” This wasn’t a suggestion to simply wait passively—it was a command to be actively engaged in productive work.

The word “occupy” carries the weight of doing business, trading, and increasing what has been given. Jesus has entrusted each of us with gifts, abilities, relationships, and opportunities. These are kingdom resources meant to be multiplied, not buried. Our waiting should never be idle. True expectation of Christ’s return is demonstrated through faithful action. When the Master returns, may He find us busy about His business, having invested wisely in what matters for eternity.

Question of the Day

How do I stay motivated in serving God when I feel spiritually tired or burnt out?

Spiritual weariness is a real challenge that even the most devoted believers face. The apostle Paul addresses this directly in Galatians 6:9: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” First, recognize that rest is biblical—even Jesus withdrew to pray and be renewed (Mark 6:31). Draw near to God through prayer and Scripture, allowing His presence to refresh your soul. Surround yourself with encouraging fellowship. Remember that your strength comes not from yourself but from the Lord (Isaiah 40:31). Pace yourself, trust God’s timing, and keep your eyes fixed on the eternal reward that awaits the faithful.

The encouraging word you speak, the prayer you offer, the service you render—all of it matters. Don’t despise small beginnings or seemingly mundane tasks. Stay busy for the King, not out of obligation, but out of love for the One who first loved you. The reward for faithful occupation during this season of waiting will far exceed anything we could imagine. Be diligent. Be faithful. The King is coming.
