Good Morning!

Good morning, beloved! On this Monday, July 20th, we begin a new week with a powerful reminder about the transformative nature of grace. As you sip your morning coffee and prepare for the day ahead, consider this truth: debtors who withhold mercy mock the cross. You and I have been forgiven an unpayable debt, yet how often do we clutch tightly to the small offenses others commit against us? Today, let us become channels of the undeserved grace we have so freely received.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come before You humbled by the magnitude of Your mercy. You forgave us when we were utterly undeserving, canceling a debt we could never repay. Yet we confess that we often withhold that same grace from others. Soften our hearts today, Lord. Open our eyes to see where we have been stingy with forgiveness. Make us generous distributors of the grace You have lavished upon us, reflecting Your love in every interaction.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.

Daily Inspiration

Matthew 18:33: “Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?”

These piercing words come from Jesus’ parable of the unmerciful servant—a man forgiven millions, yet who refused to forgive a fellow servant a few dollars. The master’s question cuts straight to the heart of every believer who has experienced God’s saving grace.

The logic is inescapable: received grace demands redistribution. When we truly comprehend the depths from which Christ rescued us, extending grace to others becomes not a burden but a natural overflow. The cross stands as an eternal monument to undeserved mercy. Every time we withhold forgiveness, we essentially declare that our offense was greater than the one Christ forgave in us. Today, let the grace you’ve received flow freely through you to someone who doesn’t deserve it—just as you didn’t.

Question of the Day

Why is it so difficult to forgive people who have deeply hurt me, even when I know God commands it?

Forgiveness is challenging because our wounds feel deeply personal, and justice seems to demand repayment. Yet Scripture reveals that forgiveness is not a feeling but a decision—an act of obedience rooted in our own experience of being forgiven. In Ephesians 4:32, Paul writes, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” The key phrase is “just as”—our forgiveness of others mirrors the forgiveness we’ve received. This doesn’t minimize your pain; rather, it acknowledges that holding onto bitterness harms you more than the offender. Release them to God’s justice, and find freedom in extending grace.

Moment of Reflection

Think back to a relationship that was restored when grace was offered undeservedly. Perhaps someone forgave you when you least expected it, or you extended mercy and witnessed healing bloom where bitterness once lived. Where in your life right now are you withholding grace that was freely given to you? Allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate those hidden places where unforgiveness has taken root.

Thought for the Day

Grace is never meant to terminate with us—it flows through us. When God pours His unmerited favor into our lives, He intends for us to become conduits, not reservoirs. The moment we receive forgiveness and refuse to pass it along, we dam up the river of mercy and create stagnant pools of bitterness in our souls.

Consider the profound reality: the same grace that saved you is the grace someone else desperately needs today. Perhaps it’s a family member who wounded you years ago. Maybe it’s a colleague who betrayed your trust. It could be yourself—holding onto guilt that Christ has already washed away.

Extending grace doesn’t mean pretending the hurt never happened or eliminating healthy boundaries. Rather, it means releasing your grip on the debt, trusting God with the outcome, and choosing to see others through the lens of mercy. Today, actively look for one person to whom you can extend grace. Watch how that single act of obedience transforms not only them but you.

Closing Blessing

May the God of all grace, who has shown you immeasurable mercy through Christ Jesus, fill your heart with compassion that overflows to everyone you encounter. May you walk in freedom as you release others from their debts, experiencing the joy that comes from being a faithful steward of Heaven’s grace. Go in peace, beloved, and extend grace freely today.
