Good Morning!

Good morning and happy Friday, July 17th! As we close out another week, let us pause to consider the gift of time God has entrusted to us. Each day is a treasure, not to be squandered but invested wisely for His glory. Today, may you approach your hours with intentionality, recognizing that awareness of life’s brevity produces holy urgency. The weekend awaits, but first—let us steward this day well.

Don’t wait! Right now, your gift goes TWICE as far 2X MATCH

Today, you have the special opportunity to help create transformational change in the life of a vulnerable child. Through surgery and medical care, a child struggling with a treatable condition will discover hope and healing. A child like Daouda.

A tumor began to grow on Daouda's upper jaw when he was just 4 years old. Before long, it had grown into a large mass that made ordinary tasks like eating and talking difficult. For eight long years, Daouda’s father, Hamady, looked far and wide in Senegal for a solution to his son’s painful condition. But the medical professionals all said they could not help. “There isn’t a hospital in Dakar I haven’t been to, to try to get this treatment,” Hamady shared.

Daouda’s condition became so painful he stopped attending school. He rarely left the house, wanting to avoid strangers' stares. Without help, his future was left uncertain.

Thankfully, hope arrived. Daouda received free surgery with Mercy Ships and a new beginning, which you can read about HERE. But others are still searching for help.

Your gift today will be MATCHED, up to $10,000, to provide surgery for another child in need.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come before You acknowledging that our days are numbered and known only to You. Grant us the wisdom to steward our time with purpose and eternal perspective. Help us to release the distractions that pull us from what truly matters. Teach us to invest our moments in ways that honor You and bless others. May we not waste the precious gift of today on things that will fade away.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.

Daily Inspiration

“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” — Psalm 90:12

Moses penned these words after witnessing generations rise and fall in the wilderness. He understood that human life, compared to God’s eternity, passes like a morning mist. Yet this awareness wasn’t meant to produce despair—it was meant to cultivate wisdom.

When we truly grasp that our time on earth is limited, something shifts within us. Petty conflicts lose their grip. Procrastination loosens its hold. What seemed urgent reveals itself as merely noise, while what truly matters rises to the surface. Numbering our days isn’t morbid—it’s liberating. It frees us to pursue what has eternal significance and release what doesn’t. A counted day carries weight; a wasted day slips away unnoticed.

Question of the Day

How do I know if I’m spending my time on things that matter to God?

Scripture provides clear guidance on eternal investments. Jesus taught us to “store up for yourselves treasures in heaven” (Matthew 6:20) and reminded us that the greatest commandments are loving God and loving others (Matthew 22:37-39). Paul echoes this in Ephesians 5:15-16: “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity.”

Ask yourself: Does this activity draw me closer to God? Does it serve others? Does it reflect eternal values or temporary pleasures? Time spent in prayer, Scripture, relationships, service, and using your gifts for His kingdom—these investments yield returns that outlast this life.

Moment of Reflection

Think back to a moment when life’s brevity became real to you—perhaps through loss, illness, or a close call. How did that experience reshape your priorities? Many who have faced mortality report a sharpened sense of purpose afterward. Today, carry that same clarity without needing the crisis. What would you do differently if you truly believed today mattered?

Thought for the Day

Counted days carry weight. There is profound power in recognizing that each sunrise is a gift, not a guarantee. When we live with this awareness, we stop drifting through our hours and start stewarding them.

Consider how differently you might approach today if you truly believed it was significant. That difficult conversation you’ve been avoiding? It becomes worth having. That person you’ve meant to encourage? The message gets sent. That habit consuming hours of your life? It loses its grip when measured against eternity.

The enemy of purposeful living isn’t usually obvious sin—it’s subtle distraction. It’s the endless scroll, the mindless consumption, the busyness that masquerades as productivity. Moses didn’t ask God to add more days; he asked for wisdom to use the days he had. May we do the same.

Spend today with purpose. Not in frantic activity, but in focused intention. Let the brevity of life produce not anxiety, but holy motivation to live fully for the One who gave you breath.

Closing Blessing

May the Lord grant you wisdom to discern what truly matters and courage to pursue it. May He redeem your time and multiply your purpose. Go forward this day knowing that every moment invested for His kingdom echoes into eternity. Be blessed, be intentional, and walk in the peace of Christ.
