Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come before You this morning with open hands and surrendered hearts. Like Solomon, we ask not for riches, fame, or power, but for Your divine wisdom. You promise to give generously and without finding fault, so we boldly approach Your throne of grace. Grant us discernment for the decisions we face, clarity for the confusion we feel, and understanding for the challenges before us. Help us to value wisdom above all earthly treasures.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.

Daily Inspiration

James 1:5: “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault.”

What a magnificent promise this verse holds for every believer! The God of the universe, Creator of all things seen and unseen, invites us to simply ask for wisdom—and He promises to give it generously.

Notice the beautiful character of our Father revealed here. He doesn’t give reluctantly or with conditions. He doesn’t hold our past failures over our heads or demand we prove ourselves worthy first. He gives “without finding fault.” This means you can approach God today, regardless of yesterday’s stumbles, and He will pour out wisdom upon you like a father delighting in His child’s request. Solomon understood this when he stood before God and asked for an understanding heart rather than wealth or long life. God was so pleased that He gave Solomon both wisdom and the riches he never requested.

Question of the Day

How do I know when God is answering my prayer for wisdom versus when I’m just following my own desires?

Discerning God’s wisdom from our own inclinations requires careful attention to several biblical markers. First, James 3:17 tells us that wisdom from above is “first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.” God’s wisdom aligns with His character and Word—it never contradicts Scripture.

Second, Proverbs 11:14 reminds us there is safety in many counselors. Seek godly advisors who know the Word and can speak truth into your situation. Third, pay attention to the peace of Christ ruling in your heart (Colossians 3:15). When wisdom comes from God, it often brings a settled assurance, even in difficult decisions. Finally, examine your motives honestly before the Lord (Psalm 139:23-24), asking Him to reveal any selfish ambition hidden beneath your reasoning.

Moment of Reflection

Think back to a time when you earnestly sought God’s guidance for a difficult decision. Perhaps it was a career change, a relationship question, or a family matter. Remember how He faithfully directed your steps when you submitted your way to Him? That same God stands ready today to guide you again. What decision in your life desperately requires divine wisdom right now? Bring it before Him without hesitation.

Thought for the Day

Wisdom outvalues wealth—this truth runs counter to everything our culture proclaims. The world measures success in bank accounts, possessions, and positions of power. Yet Solomon, given a blank check by God Himself, chose wisdom above all else.

Why? Because Solomon understood something profound: wealth without wisdom leads to ruin, but wisdom can build, preserve, and multiply every blessing God gives. Wisdom teaches us how to navigate relationships with grace. It shows us when to speak and when to remain silent. It guides our financial decisions, our parenting choices, and our responses to crisis. Money can be lost overnight, but wisdom becomes part of who we are.

Consider this: the wisest investment you can make today isn’t in stocks or real estate—it’s kneeling before God and asking for His perspective on your life. When you see circumstances through heaven’s eyes, you make decisions that echo into eternity. Riches fade, but the wisdom of God endures forever. Ask for wisdom today, and watch how it transforms every area of your life.

Closing Blessing

May the Lord bless you with wisdom that surpasses all understanding. May He guide your steps, illuminate your path, and grant you discernment for every decision you face. Go forth this week confident that when you ask, He gives generously. May His wisdom guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus, today and always. Amen.
