Your Daily Devotion for August 28th

Good Morning!

Good morning! Today is Thursday, August 28—another precious day to keep our hope alive by rehearsing God’s faithfulness. Let us remember all He has done and face this day with renewed expectancy and trust in our faithful God.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father,

We thank you for your unwavering faithfulness, demonstrated to us time and again. Bring to our remembrance the countless victories and answered prayers you have graciously provided. Let these precious memories strengthen our hearts today with hope and expectancy.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.

Daily Inspiration

“I will remember the deeds of the Lord.” — Psalm 77:11

Memory is a powerful force in strengthening hope for what lies ahead. When we recall God’s deeds, our present trials lose their power over us. By intentionally bringing to mind all His faithfulness and victories from our past, the Lord infuses fresh hope and expectancy into our hearts. Our confidence is not in circumstances but in a God who has never failed.

Real News for Real People — Not Partisans

Feeling like you want to get off the rollercoaster of polarizing politics? Read Tangle — an independent and nonpartisan political newsletter recently profiled on This American Life for helping to bridge the gap between politically divided families. Each day, the newsletter unpacks one important news story, examining it from all sides of the political spectrum.

Question of the day

How can recalling past answered prayers help strengthen our faith today?

Our faith strengthens immensely as we recall God’s past acts of faithfulness in answering prayers. Just as the psalmist declared in Psalm 77:11, remembering what God has already done assures us of His presence, love, and ability. Every past miracle, answered prayer, and divine intervention serves as concrete evidence and a reminder that God will faithfully provide again. Thus, our hope is strengthened, rooted deeply in past experiences of His faithfulness, enabling us to face today and tomorrow confidently.

Moment of Reflection

Take a few quiet moments today to read through old journal entries of answered prayers. Let those powerful reminders of God’s proven faithfulness inspire gratitude, renew expectancy, and build confidence in God’s great plans ahead for your life.

Thought for the day

Revisiting God’s past faithfulness is more than just nostalgia; it’s spiritual fuel. Every memory we keep alive of God answering our prayers, comforting our hearts, and providing in difficult seasons serves a deeper purpose. These memories cultivate our faith, enlarge our trust, and give clarity to see our present situations in perspective. By consistently rehearsing God’s acts, our hearts become firm and undaunted, filled with anticipation of His continued goodness and grace. Thus, reflecting on past hope fulfilled becomes the foundation for today’s courage and tomorrow’s confident expectation.

Closing Blessing

May the Lord lovingly remind you today of every prayer answered, every miracle performed, and every blessing graciously given. May your hope be replenished, your heart renewed, and your faith deeply rooted in the unfailing faithfulness of our great God.

God bless you abundantly today and always!
