Your Daily Devotion for August 13th

Good Morning!

Good morning, beloved friends! Today is Wednesday, August 13. Before you reach for your phone to “Google” a question this morning, why not lift your voice to the Lord first? God invites you to seek His wisdom above all else today.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Guide me to seek Your counsel before turning to the internet or earthly sources of wisdom. May Your voice be my first resort, my most trusted counselor, and my greatest comfort. Lead me in wisdom and clarity today and every day.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.

Daily Inspiration

Jeremiah 33:3: “Call to Me and I will answer you.”

We often turn swiftly to online searches to resolve our confusion or dilemmas. But the scripture reminds us clearly—our first and best option is God Himself. Unlike worldly resources, God’s wisdom is everlasting, timely, and perfectly tailored to our every circumstance. His line of communication never fails us, and He never disappoints. His answers provide abundant clarity, comfort, and truth.

In Proverbs 12:17, it says, "An honest witness tells the truth, but a false witness tells lies." In today’s world, finding honest, fact-based news can be a challenge. That’s why 1440 delivers daily news that’s free from opinions and bias—just the facts, helping you stay informed with truth.

Seeking impartial news? Meet 1440.

Every day, 3.5 million readers turn to 1440 for their factual news. We sift through 100+ sources to bring you a complete summary of politics, global events, business, and culture, all in a brief 5-minute email. Enjoy an impartial news experience.

Question of the day

I’ve got a major decision coming up. Does the Bible give any guidance about making wise choices?

Absolutely! Scripture clearly encourages us to seek divine wisdom for our decisions. Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs us: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

So, pray earnestly, seek counsel through God’s Word, and trust the Lord—this is the biblical recipe for wise decision-making.

Moment of Reflection

Think about the clarity you’ve received in prayer rather than through researching online. Reflect on those moments today when heaven’s counsel illuminated your path more brightly than life’s distractions. How can you commit to making prayer your primary resource today?

Thought for the day

In an age where information is at our fingertips, prayer has become neglected in favor of faster answers from the internet. What we must remember is that searching online may give us immediate data; however, it cannot provide us with the divine insight only found in the One who knows every aspect of our lives intimately. Our Almighty God promises clear, profound, and personalized answers far richer and deeper than our quick searches. Make an intentional decision today to pause and pray before you type and scroll. Dial your prayers first. Heaven’s hotline is never busy, never overwhelmed, and will never put you on hold.

Closing Blessing

May the Lord’s voice guide you clearly today and always; may His peace accompany every choice and fill your heart. May you witness the richness of His wisdom as you reach first for His holy counsel. God bless you abundantly today!
