Good Morning!
Good morning and blessings to you on this Thursday, April 23rd! Today we are called to embody the heart of the Good Shepherd—one who notices when even a single sheep has wandered away. As you begin this day, may your eyes be opened to those around you who may have strayed from the fold. The Father’s love is relentless in its pursuit, and He invites us to join Him in seeking the lost with intentional, compassionate hearts.
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, break our hearts for those who have wandered away from You. Give us eyes to see the lost around us and courage to pursue them with Your unfailing love. Remove any complacency from our spirits and replace it with the urgency of a shepherd searching for a missing sheep. May we reflect Your persistent, patient love to those who have strayed, never giving up on them just as You never give up on us.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.
Daily Inspiration
“Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?” — Luke 15:4
This powerful question from Jesus reveals the extraordinary nature of God’s love. In worldly terms, abandoning ninety-nine sheep to find one seems illogical, even foolish. A sensible shepherd might cut his losses and protect the majority. But our Heavenly Father operates by a different economy—one where every single soul carries immeasurable worth.
The pursuit Jesus describes is not casual or convenient. The shepherd goes “until he finds it”—no time limit, no backup plan, no moment of surrender. This is the relentless, seeking love of God personified. When we understand that we ourselves were once that wandering sheep, rescued by divine pursuit, we cannot help but extend the same grace to others.

Question of the Day
How should I approach someone who has walked away from their faith without pushing them further away?
Scripture offers beautiful guidance for this delicate situation. James 5:19-20 reminds us, “My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.” The key is approaching with humility, not judgment. Galatians 6:1 instructs us to restore others “gently,” remembering our own vulnerabilities. Be present, be patient, and be prayerful. Often, the prodigal returns not through arguments won, but through consistent, unconditional love demonstrated over time.

Moment of Reflection
Who in your world has wandered from faith? Perhaps a family member who once sang hymns beside you, a friend who gradually drifted away, or a colleague who shared their doubts and then disappeared from fellowship. Take a moment now to bring their name before the Lord. Consider: what is one tangible way you could reach out to them this week? A text, a coffee invitation, a simple “I’ve been thinking about you.”
Thought for the Day
The story of the prodigal son reminds us that restoration often comes through persistent, patient love. The father in that parable didn’t chase his son down the road or send messengers demanding his return. Instead, he watched and waited, ready to run with open arms the moment his son turned homeward. This teaches us something profound about the balance between pursuit and patience.
Seeking the lost doesn’t always mean dramatic interventions or confrontational conversations. Sometimes it means being faithfully present, keeping the door open, and allowing our lives to serve as a constant invitation back to the Father’s house. We plant seeds through kindness, water them with prayer, and trust God to bring the growth. Our role is to pursue; the transformation belongs to the Holy Spirit. Today, let your pursuit reveal the Father’s heart—persistent in love, patient in waiting, and always ready to celebrate the return of the one who was lost.
Closing Blessing
May the Lord who left the ninety-nine to find you now work through you to reach the wandering. May your love be patient, your presence be constant, and your hope never waver. Go forth today as an ambassador of the Good Shepherd, and may God bring someone across your path who needs to know they are worth pursuing. Grace and peace be with you always.
