Good Morning!

Good morning, beloved friends in Christ! On this first day of April, may you be filled with holy boldness. Today we are called to examine our voices—are we using them for God’s purposes? In a world that often pressures us toward comfortable silence, the Lord invites us to speak truth courageously. Remember that your words carry the power to bring light into darkness and hope to the hopeless. Let us embrace this Wednesday with conviction and courage.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come before You asking for courage to speak when speaking costs us something. Forgive us for the times we have chosen comfort over conviction, and silence over standing for truth. Give us voices for the voiceless, Lord. Fill our mouths with Your words and our hearts with Your compassion. Help us to be instruments of justice and mercy in a world that desperately needs both.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.

Daily Inspiration

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.” — Proverbs 31:8

This powerful verse reminds us that our voices are not given to us merely for our own benefit. God has entrusted us with the ability to speak so that we might advocate for those who cannot advocate for themselves—the marginalized, the oppressed, the forgotten, and the vulnerable.

Throughout Scripture, we see God’s heart for justice and His call for His people to be agents of that justice. From Moses confronting Pharaoh to Nathan confronting David to Jesus overturning tables in the temple, courageous truth-telling has always been central to God’s redemptive work. When we speak truth, we participate in God’s mission to set captives free.

Question of the day

How do I overcome fear when I feel called to speak up about something difficult?

Fear is a natural human response, and even the great heroes of faith experienced it. Moses told God he was not eloquent enough (Exodus 4:10), and Jeremiah protested that he was too young (Jeremiah 1:6). Yet God’s response was consistent: “I will be with you.”

The antidote to fear is not the absence of danger but the presence of God. Isaiah 41:10 assures us, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you.” When we recognize that God goes before us and stands beside us, we find courage not in our own strength but in His faithfulness. Pray for boldness, remember His promises, and take that first step—God will meet you there.

Moment of Reflection

Where has cowardice silenced your conviction? Think back to moments when you sensed God prompting you to speak but chose safety instead. What was the cost of that silence—to you, to others, to your witness? Now recall a time when courageous truth-telling brought transformation. Let both memories shape your resolve today.

Thought for the day

Silence, though sometimes golden, can also become complicit. When we witness injustice and remain quiet, our silence communicates acceptance. When we see lies spread and say nothing, our silence allows deception to flourish. The German pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer understood this when he wrote, “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil.”

This does not mean we speak carelessly or harshly. Ephesians 4:15 calls us to speak “the truth in love.” Our words should be seasoned with grace while remaining firmly rooted in truth. The goal is not to win arguments but to set people free. Jesus said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32).

Consider what courageous truth-telling might look like in your life today. Perhaps it’s a difficult conversation with a loved one, standing up for someone being mistreated, or simply refusing to participate in gossip. Whatever form it takes, remember: truth spoken in love has the power to break chains.

Closing Blessing

May the God of truth fill your mouth with words of life and your heart with holy courage. May you speak boldly when speaking costs you something, knowing that the One who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life stands with you always. Go forth as a voice for the voiceless, and may your words bring freedom wherever they land. Amen.
