Good Morning!
Good morning, beloved! On this beautiful Sunday, April 19th, may you cultivate an eternal perspective that lifts your gaze above life’s temporary struggles. When earthly fog rolls in—worries about finances, relationships, health, or the future—remember that heaven speaks with perfect clarity. Today, let the Lord lift your eyes above the temporal and into His glorious light. The clouds may surround you, but His voice rises above them all.
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father,
We come before You this morning asking that You lift our eyes above the temporal concerns that so easily entangle our hearts. Forgive us when we become consumed by earthly anxieties and lose sight of Your eternal promises. Grant us heavenly vision to see our circumstances through Your perspective. Help us set our minds on things above, where Christ is seated at Your right hand. When confusion surrounds us, let Your peace be our anchor and Your Word be our compass.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.
Daily Inspiration
Colossians 3:2: “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”
The Apostle Paul’s instruction to the Colossian church remains remarkably relevant for us today. In a world constantly demanding our attention—through notifications, news cycles, and endless obligations—our minds naturally drift toward earthly matters. Yet Paul calls us to a radical reorientation of our focus.
Setting our minds on “things above” doesn’t mean ignoring our responsibilities or becoming so heavenly minded that we’re of no earthly good. Rather, it means filtering every earthly concern through an eternal lens. When we view our problems from heaven’s vantage point, what once seemed insurmountable becomes manageable. Our temporary trials pale in comparison to eternal glory. This heavenly focus doesn’t eliminate earthly challenges—it clarifies them, giving us wisdom and peace to navigate them with faith rather than fear.
Question of the Day
Why do I struggle to maintain peace when facing uncertain circumstances?
Peace eludes us in uncertainty because we often try to carry burdens God never intended us to bear. Jesus addressed this directly in Matthew 6:34: “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Our struggle stems from attempting to control what only God can control.
Scripture reveals that true peace comes not from resolved circumstances but from a resolved heart. In Philippians 4:6-7, Paul writes, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Peace is a gift we receive when we surrender our uncertainty to the One who holds all things together.

Moment of Reflection
Think back to a time when you shifted your focus upward—when you stopped wrestling with a problem and instead surrendered it to God in prayer. Remember the peace that followed? That moment wasn’t coincidence; it was the fruit of heavenly perspective. Today, what earthly concern is clouding your vision? Name it, release it, and watch the fog begin to lift as you turn your eyes toward the One who sees all things clearly.
Thought for the Day
“Look up before looking around.”
This simple wisdom contains profound truth for the believer’s daily walk. When we wake each morning and immediately look around—at our problems, our to-do lists, our fears—we start from a position of overwhelm. But when we first look up, acknowledging God’s sovereignty, goodness, and faithful presence, we establish a foundation of peace before facing the day.
The earthly fog that often clouds our judgment consists of worry, comparison, unforgiveness, and misplaced priorities. These obscure our view of God’s purposes and promises. But heavenly focus acts as spiritual clarity—suddenly we see that our momentary troubles are producing eternal glory (2 Corinthians 4:17). The chaos doesn’t disappear, but it becomes ordered under God’s sovereign hand.
Consider the difference between a hiker lost in fog versus one standing on a mountain peak above the clouds. Same terrain, radically different perspective. When we set our minds on things above, we rise above the fog of earthly concern and see the landscape of our lives from God’s vantage point. From there, every path becomes clearer, every step more certain.
Closing Blessing
May the God of all peace lift your eyes above every earthly concern this week. May His eternal perspective bring clarity to your confusion and rest to your weary heart. As you set your mind on things above, may you experience the supernatural peace that guards your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Go forth with heaven’s vision, beloved, for you are children of the light.
