Your Daily Devotion for April 18th

Good Morning!

Today is Good Friday, April 18. As we reflect upon Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, let us step into this day humbled yet hopeful, reminded that the same love and courage that led Jesus to Calvary now live within us. Fear not, for through His death we inherit everlasting courage, grace, and redemption!

“Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.”

Hebrews 13:3

God’s Word instructs us as believers to remember those in prison as if we were behind bars, sitting right next to them.

But how can we do this?

Thanks to Prison Fellowship, living out this verse is simple and life-changing for us and for our incarcerated brothers and sisters.

How? Bibles.

Your gift today to Prison Fellowship will put Bibles and Christian content into the hands of waiting prisoners. Give now to reach men and women with what they need most: God’s Word! Thank you for caring for those in prison.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father,

On this Good Friday, we remember Christ’s sacrifice on the cross—the greatest act of courage, love, and redemption. As we reflect on His willingness to endure suffering for our sake, silence our fears and doubts. Let Your Word speak powerfully to our hearts, reminding us of Your unfailing love and constant presence. May the promise of Christ’s sacrifice reassure us that You will never leave nor forsake us.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Daily Inspiration

“Be strong and courageous…He will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Courage emerges when we give more weight to God’s faithful promises than we do to our persistent apprehensions. Our Heavenly Father calls us to stand boldly and face each moment, knowing that His presence is unwaveringly on our side. When fear tries to invade your heart, remember that the Almighty stands beside you, equipping you with strength for every battle and challenge you face.

Question of the day

How can I overcome feelings of insecurity and fear as a believer?

As believers, the first step in conquering insecurity and fear is realizing and accepting the truth of God’s promises. He reminds us clearly, saying:
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
When this truth deeply settles within us, fear loses its grip because we understand the unwavering presence and strength of God are ours to carry with us always.

Moment of Reflection

Recall today, on Good Friday, the boldest act of courage ever displayed: Christ willingly enduring the cross to fulfill God’s promise of redemption. Reflect upon a moment in your own life when you chose obedience over fear, trusting fully in His faithfulness. Just as Christ overcame agony through steadfast trust in the Father, allow His sacrifice to remind you that true courage flourishes when we anchor our hearts in God's unwavering promises.

Thought for the day

On this Good Friday, we remember that Christ’s sacrifice on the cross stands as the ultimate testament of God’s steadfast promises, far surpassing any fear or uncertainty we face. Fear whispers lies of insecurity, but the cross loudly proclaims the eternal truth: you are loved, redeemed, and never alone. Today, let your confidence rest not in your own strength or circumstances, but fully in the finished work of Jesus—the Savior who gave everything to stand faithfully beside you.

Closing Blessing

May you enter this day courageous and undaunted, resting assured in the unfaltering presence of our Almighty God. May His promises encourage your heart, silence your fears, and strengthen you as you walk confidently, knowing He will never abandon you.
