Good Morning!

Good morning, dear friends in Christ! On this Wednesday, April 15th, we gather in spirit to reflect on what truly matters. As spring continues to blossom around us, may this day remind you of the eternal growth God desires in your heart. Let us store up treasure wisely today—for moths destroy earthly hoards, but heavenly riches endure forever. May your Wednesday be filled with eternal perspective and divine purpose.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, asking You to redirect our treasure placement. We confess that we often invest our time, energy, and resources in things that fade and decay. Open our eyes to see where our hearts truly lie, and give us the courage to shift our priorities toward Your eternal kingdom. Help us release our grip on temporary securities and find our true wealth in You alone.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.

Daily Inspiration

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.”Matthew 6:19

Jesus spoke these words not to condemn wealth, but to redirect our hearts toward what truly lasts. In ancient times, fine garments were considered great treasures—yet moths could reduce them to rags overnight. Grain stores could be devoured by vermin, and locked vaults could be breached by thieves.

Christ invites us to consider: What are we truly investing in? The imagery is powerful and timeless. Everything earthly is vulnerable to decay, loss, and destruction. But treasures stored in heaven—acts of love, generosity, faithfulness, and devotion to God—appreciate forever. They cannot be stolen, corrupted, or diminished. Today, let this truth reorient your priorities and bring peace to your soul.

Question of the Day

How do I know if I’m placing too much value on earthly possessions?

Scripture offers us a revealing test. In Matthew 6:21, Jesus says, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Examine where your thoughts drift during quiet moments. What consumes your worry? What occupies disproportionate energy in your planning and striving? If anxiety about finances, status, or material security dominates your mind more than trust in God’s provision, this may signal misplaced treasure. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas where earthly attachment has eclipsed heavenly devotion, and He will faithfully guide you toward realignment.

Moment of Reflection

Recall a time when you redirected an investment heavenward—perhaps through generosity, sacrifice, or choosing relationships over riches. Remember the satisfaction that followed? That deep, abiding peace was a glimpse of eternal reward. Today, consider one area where you can make a similar shift, trusting that heavenly deposits appreciate forever.

Thought for the Day

The moth is a peculiar teacher. It works silently, invisibly, in darkness—slowly consuming what we thought was secure. Jesus chose this image intentionally. Our earthly treasures don’t usually vanish in dramatic catastrophe; they erode gradually, almost imperceptibly, until we realize their emptiness.

But here’s the beautiful inversion of the Gospel: what the world sees as loss, heaven counts as gain. Every dollar given generously, every hour spent serving others, every sacrifice made for the Kingdom—these are eternal investments that compound with divine interest.

The challenge before us today is not merely to give more or want less, but to undergo a fundamental relocation of the heart. When we truly believe that heavenly deposits appreciate forever, our grip on earthly things naturally loosens. We stop anxiously hoarding and start joyfully investing in what cannot be taken away. Relocate your treasure today, and watch your heart follow.

Closing Blessing

May the Lord grant you eyes to see beyond the temporary and hands open to invest in eternity. May His peace guard your heart against anxiety over earthly loss, and may His joy fill you as you store up treasures that no moth can destroy. Go in grace, beloved, and treasure wisely.
