Your Daily Devotion for April 15th

Good Morning!

Good morning! It’s Tuesday, April 15 — a fresh opportunity for each of us to embody Christ’s humility and compassion through our daily interactions. As we walk through Holy Week and look ahead to the joy of Easter Sunday, let’s intentionally set aside pride and embrace the heart of a servant, reflecting His grace in every conversation we hold and choice we make today.

Today’s devotion is brought to you by The Voice of the Martyrs ― Serving persecuted Christians since 1967

Faith That Stands—Stories That Inspire

This spring, inspire the faith of the children in your life through the stories of our persecuted Christian family both past and present!

Your kids may know superheroes, but do they know the real-life heroes of our faith? The Voice of the Martyrs helped create The Torchlighters, an incredible animated series introducing kids to courageous Christians like William Tyndale, Jim Elliot, and Corrie ten Boom. Available now at Gifts to Inspire, this series makes a meaningful Easter gift for your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or even the children’s pastor at your church!

With Easter just days away, now is the perfect time to find faith-building gifts that will inspire you, your family, and your friends. In this large selection of Gifts to Inspire, you’ll discover books, films, and resources that will strengthen faith through the courageous stories of our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, help us replace pride with the posture of a servant, always seeking to lift others up. Give us wisdom and humility to sacrifice our own preferences for the greater good of unity and genuine understanding.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.

Daily Inspiration

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.” — Philippians 2:3

Christ’s example of humility is one of self-giving love. He laid aside His throne to serve humanity out of deep compassion. Likewise, our lives shine brightest when marked by the humility and selflessness exhibited by our Savior. Choosing to esteem others above ourselves enriches relationships, fosters harmony, and deepens our walk with Christ.

Question of the day

How can I personally learn to overcome pride and grow in my humility?

Overcoming pride and growing in humility is often a daily struggle. God’s Word provides guidance in this journey. James 4:10 states, “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” Cultivate daily humility by consistently turning to prayer, confessing moments of pride, and actively serving others without expectation or recognition. Reflecting on Christ’s example (Philippians 2:5–8)—who “made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant”—encourages us toward genuine humility and gives us strength to overcome prideful tendencies.

Moment of Reflection

Take a moment to recall a time when someone humbled themselves to serve, encourage, or benefit you in some manner. Reflect upon how they made you feel valued and seen. Allow that memory to inspire your actions today, motivating you to look for opportunities where you can humbly serve those around you.

Thought for the day

True humility paves the way for genuine love, untainted by ego or rivalry. Humility recognizes the intrinsic worth in every person as bearers of the image of God. It frees us from competition and comparison, guiding us toward genuine compassion, patience, and understanding. Choose today to approach relationships with deep-rooted humility; in doing so, you truly reflect Christ’s love and create spaces for unity, reconciliation, and authentic connection in every area of life.

Closing Blessing

May the humility and love of Christ guide your steps today. May your heart be softened, your spirit gentle, and your relationships strengthened as you reflect the kindness of our Savior. Go forth with a humble spirit, shining Christ’s love through every thoughtful gesture and encouraging word.

God bless you abundantly!
